History
Wilhelm Bott founded a mechanical workshop in a mill near Gaildorf in 1930 – the nucleus of today’s Bott Group. As early as 1940, the company employs 70 people.
Bott Storage Systems commenced Australian manufacturing in 2008. The current manufacturing facility employs 40 people including a dedicated vehicle installation centre.
Globally, the group employs around 950 people and generates annual sales of EUR 132 million. Apart from the three production sites Germany, England and Hungary, the Bott Group currently has numerous subsidiaries in Europe as well as licensing partners and importers all over the world. Bott is the leading international manufacturer of vehicle equipment, workshop equipment and workstation systems.

bott in France
bott establishes a distribution company ‘bott SAS’ in France.
1980
bott in the UK
Working relationship set up with Lockpanel Ltd (Now Bott Ltd) for the production of bott perfo wall system, cabinets and storage cabinets in Bude (UK).
1985
New production facility
A 2nd production facility in Gaildorf (Germany) is opened.
1995
New product line: bott perfo
Introduction of the modern day bott perfo tool storage brand.
1998
New product line: Workplace Systems
A range of workstation and assembly line furniture is launched.
2000
New product line: bott vario
The bott vario vehicle storage system brand is launched.
2004
New product line: bott uno
The bott uno vehicle storage system brand is launched
2006
New product line: bott modulo
The bott modulo vehicle storage system brand is launched.

- The bott cubio range of workplace equipment is launched.
- New UK headquarters opens in Bude (UK).
2009
New product line: bott verso
The bott verso workplace equipment range is launched to the British, French and Spanish markets.
2010
New product line: bott vario2
The bott vario2 vehicle storage system is launched.
2011
bott vario2 wins award
bott vario2 awarded the If Design award and the Red Dot award.
2012
Further improvement and expansion

New product range and sales facility
Launch of the bott avero workstation system.
In Germany, a northern branch is opened in Glinde near Hamburg.
2014

Launch of bott Smartvan, offering van racking for tradesmen to buy online and self-fit.
In Germany, a weatern branch is opened in Leverkusen.
2015
bott in Switzerland
A service partner opened in Switzerland: Bott Schweiz AG.
2016
New sales facility
Another branch offce is opened in Germany: The branch office Central-West in Siegen.
2018
New sales facility
Further branches are opened again in Germany: The branch office South-East in Markt Schwaben and the branch office Central-North in Lehrte.
2019
New product line: bott vario3
The bott vario3 vehicle storage system product line is launched.
2020
bott vario3 wins award
bott vario3 awarded the If Design award and the Red Dot award.
2021
Acquisition of ELABO GmbH
The Bott Group takes over ELABO GmbH and thus gains a strong partner.
2021
New vehicle conversion centre
Building work commences on the new installation center in Gaildorf.
2022
bott Smartvan USA launch & launch of the bott uno3 product line
The bott uno3 product line in the van racking sector is launched and the bott Smartvan brand is launched in the USA with the formation of the Joint venture business Systainer Systems North America LLC.
